May 15th Rolling Thunder Armed Forces Night & Limited Late & U-Car Spring Championships

Winchester Speedway will welcome The Rolling Thunder Armed Forces to the speedway on Saturday May 15, 2010. On the agenda for the night will be the 40 Lap $1000 to win Limited Late Model Spring Championship along with the 20 Lap U-Car Spring Championship. The Limited Late Model 40 lap double points event will pay $1000 to win with 24th place paying $100. This all Courtesy of Carter Family, G & G Mobile Trailer Service & Repair, and Red Diamond LLC. There is also over $600 in lap money, and special give aways. At intermission there will be a mechanics tires rolling contest. All Limited Late Model teams can have 1 mechanic per team participate in this event. All participants are asked to sign in at the program table by the pit admission booth by 6pm.  The 20 Lap U-Car Spring Championship for double points will also take place. Also on the agenda for the nights events will be the Late Models, Pure Stocks and 4 Cylinders. Gates open at 4:30, warm-ups 6:15 and racing at 7pm. Pit entrance will be $23 with general admission $12 with children 12 and under free to the grandstand area.

Jonathan Dehaven takes first of 2010 season at Winchester Speedway

The Gasoline Alley Late Models had sixteen cars checked into the pit area on a very cold April night for the running of there twenty-five lap main event. And it was Jonathan Dehaven picking up his first win of the 2010 season. Wesley Bonebrake  and Randy Burkholder would lead the field to the green flag with fourth place starter Dehaven taking the top spot on lap one. Wesley Bonebrake would fall into second with Armel third. The trio would continue running with a caution falling on lap thirteen to tighten the field. Dehaven on the point would continue his lead and pick up his first win of the season. Wesley Bonebrake would cross second, father Denny third, twelth place starter Bo Feathers fourth, and rounding out the top five was Tommy Armel. Heats went to Dehaven and Omps.

The Eagle School Auto Parts Limited Late Models had twenty-one cars checked in for there main event of the evening and it was Moe Harden picking up his first win of the season. Sam Crouch and Kris Eaton would lead the field to the drop of the green with third place starter Harden taking the top spot on the first lap. Eaton would apply pressure and take the spot from Harden on lap three. Several cautions would fly restarting the field with Harden fighting back to take the top spot from Eaton on lap six. Harden would go on to pick the win with Eaton second, Buckler third, Tharp fourth and coming home fifth was Kris Holliday. Heats went to Lamb and Eaton. (more…)

Reminder to all Street Stock & Limited Late Model & U-Car Drivers

All drivers that participate in the Winchester/ Potomac Challenge races will receive 50 bonus points. There are no points for heat races, or regular points involved in these  challenge races except for the 50 bonus points. The next schedule challenge race is at Potomac on April 23, 2010 for the Pure Stock division, then on May 7th for the Limited Late Models at Potomac, June 4th for the Limited Late Models and July 30th for the Pure Stocks at Potomac. The Challenge races at Winchester are May 22nd for the Limited Late Models, June 19th Pure Stocks, U-Cars July 3rd at Winchester, U-Cars September 5th  Potomac.

 The Eagle School Auto Parts Limited Late Models will headline the racing events on Saturday Night April 24, 2010 with a 40 lap main event double points on the line. The 40 lap main event is Courtesy of “The Carter Family ( Jr, Rae, Rob, Spank, T. Hoover, Kris Eaton, Terry Ransom, G & G Mobile Trailer Service & Repair, and Red Diamond LLC) In memory of Bob Carter. Also on the agenda for the night are The Gasoline Alley Late Models, Dehavens Well Drilling 4 Cylinders and The Finish Line Auto U-Car divisions. Gates will open at 4;30 with warm-ups slated for 6:15 and the green flag waves at 7pm Pit entrance is $23 with general admission $12 for adults and children under 12 free to the grandstand area.
