Potomac/Winchester Limited Late Model Challenge & Outlaw Karts Saturday July 31, 2010

The Potomac/Winchester Limited Late Model Challenge 30 lap $1000 to win event will be held on Saturday Night July 31, 2010. All drivers participating will receive 50 bonus points towards there home tracks point system. Also on the agenda will be the Late Models, 4 Cylinders and U-Cars. As an added bonus the Outlaw Karts will be on hand. Gates open at 4:30, warm-ups 6:15 and racing gets under way at 7pm. Pit entrance will be $25, with general admission $15 for adults and children 12 and under are free to the grandstand area.

Josh Richards grabs $5000 in Mike Clore Memorial Three State Flyers Show

Josh Richards claimed the $5000 Mike Clore Memorial main event Saturday Night at The Winchester Speedway, in Winchester VA.Front row starters Jamie Lathroum and Jeremy Miller lead the field to the green with Miller taking the top spot. Richards was quick to take the runner up spot from his fourth starting position on lap three. Richards then set his sights on Miller and would take the top spot on lap twelve.Richards in control would see a caution fly on lap twenty to tighten the field up. Richards set to take the green, Miller second and seventh place starter JT Spence had worked his way into the third position would make the pass on Miller on lap twenty one. Spence and Miller would battle for the runner up spot as Miller grabbed it back on lap twenty-five only to hand it back on lap thirty-six. Richards would go onto pick up the win with Spence second, Miller third, Jason Covert who started sixteenth would come home fourth and rounding out the top five was D.J. Myers. Special thanks to Ernie D’S Auto Auction for the $1000 points bonus that Richards and Miller tied for, and decided to split the top spots and Keith Jackson was third overall in the weekend events points system. Heat race winners for the 31 cars went to Jeremy Miller, Josh Richards, and Walker Arthur. Scott Labarron would pick up the win in the 15 lap consolation event. Jamie Lathroum would pick up the win in the 6 lap dash. (more…)

Ronnie Dehaven Jr takes checkered flag at Winchester Speedway Saturday Night July 17, 2010

Ronnie Dehaven Jr picked up the victory in the 25 lap Gasoline Alley late Model main event Saturday Night at Winchester Speedway. Dehaven and Brannon lead the field to the drop of the green with Brannon taking the top spot.Caution flew on lap three for Feathers and Spence who tangled in turn one. Field reset with Brannon in the top spot would see a hard charging Dehaven moving up as Brannon would slow with  mechanical problems on lap six. Dehaven now sitting in the top spot would see twelth place starting Armel applying pressure for the top spot. Dehaven in control would go onto pick the  win over Armel, Wesley Bonebrake,Brian Tavenner, and rounding out the top five was Denny Bonebrake who would rebound to complete the top five. (more…)

24 Car Super Late Model Field to Pay $1200.00 for Regular Show

Winchester Speedway & Potomac Speedway will pay $1200.00 for a regular Super Late Model show if it’s a 24 car field, with $150.00 to take the green. Promoter Greg Gunter is trying to increase car counts and help with expenses for racers who are willing to travel.
